What Kind Of Bathroom Is Right For Your Home?

Bathrooms for All Seasons and Reasons

Bathrooms can be categorized into several different types based on their size and function, who uses them, and their location in the house. The smallest footprint for a bathroom is usually the powder room and the half bath. Bedrooms with nearby or attached bathrooms include the guest bathroom, a kids’ bathroom, and the master bathroom. Variations of them include a bathroom with laundry facilities, a basement bathroom, a bathroom with fixtures and features that are accessible to the physically challenged, and a luxury master bathroom suite with whirlpool or sauna, workout equipment, and dressing room.

It’s a small world: Powder room or half bath

A powder room is a small bathroom on the first floor of a home, usually located off a hallway or the main living area. It has a small vanity or sink, mirror, and toilet and is designed to accommodate guests, as well as family members. You can make a powder room complement your living-area decorating style by choosing compatible colors and furnishings.

In many older homes, the closet or space under the stairway was drafted as a powder room so visitors didn’t have to go upstairs to use the main bathroom. These bathrooms have just enough space for the essentials: a toilet tucked under the stairway, and a tiny corner sink with a mirror.

Wall-mounted light sconces are a good way to provide adequate lighting without overwhelming a small space, so they’re a good choice in a powder room.

Going up a size: Three-quarter bath

A three-quarter bath, a term created by home builders and realtors, is also usually small, but large enough to include a shower with the vanity and toilet, and often features storage shelves.

The small space of a half or three-quarter bath may be the place to splurge on materials. You can rationalize purchasing high-end tiles because so few are needed; the same holds true for wallcovering. When shopping for material, know exactly how much you need so that you can take advantage of leftover bargain-priced materials that will fit in your small space.

Welcoming visitors: The guest bathroom

A guest bathroom is a full or three-quarter bath and is usually adjacent to a guest bedroom or a room used for occasional visitors. In the home of empty nesters, a guest bathroom is often a reincarnation of the kids’ bathroom. Plenty of counter space is a plus so that visitors have room for travel shaving kits and toiletry cases.

Because the guest room isn’t used on a full-time basis, many people make the adjoining bathroom do double duty by also using it as a laundry room. Many people also borrow an idea from condominiums and vacation time-share units and make good use of a small area (such as a closet area) by incorporating a stacked or side-by-side washer and dryer.

In many homes, the lower level or basement serves as the place for a guest room, so the addition of a bathroom is convenient not only for visitors but for family members, too. An ejector pump grinds up waste and pumps it uphill, so it’s a key solution for a basement bathroom in which the main drain exits above the slab. The ejector pump can also handle water from the shower and sink, making it the ideal solution for a basement installation.

Fystie spluttered and shook, so Mort wrapped his arms round him. I like it here, Fystie managed. And I like you too. Youve got a really long cock. He burst into laughter, spraying saliva.
